Meet the Board of Directors

Sandra Holt – Board Chair

Sandra Holt co-owns Mulinazzi Law Office where she is an attorney practicing estate law.  Ms. Holt’s case load always includes low income clients and in 2019, her firm was awarded the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service’s Law Firm of the Year award for outstanding volunteer work in Maryland.  She is currently the President of the board for the Animal Welfare Society of Howard County, a local animal shelter which focuses on placing dogs in permanent, loving homes. 

Guodong (Gordon) Gao – Board Member

Guodong (Gordon) Gao, Ph.D., M.B.A., is a professor at the Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, College Park. He is also director of the Health Insights AI Lab, and co-director of the Center for Health Information and Decision Systems (CHIDS). He is very active in community services and he enjoys working with students.

Jean Tang – Board Member

Jean Tang, CPA, CGMA, is an accounting manager at Maryland Financial Investors Inc. She is also the financial director of Howard County Chinese School. She received her master’s degree from the University of Baltimore, and bachelor’s degrees from Peking University. She is very active in community services and enjoys working with students.

Elizabeth Crammond– Board Member

Elizabeth Crammond is the Executive Director of Bright Minds Foundation, the Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) Educational Foundation. Liz has ten years of experience working with nonprofit organizations including: United Way of Central Maryland, Community Action Council of Howard County, and Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic. In her role as Executive Director of Bright Minds Foundation Liz is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, fundraising, and strategic plan of the organization. Under Liz’s direction, Bright Minds Foundation expanded its programmatic work to include an early childhood literacy program and scholarships for income-eligible students enrolled in the HCPSS’s JumpStart program.

Veronica Adler – Board Member

Veronica Adler is the Community Engagement Coordinator for the Community Ecology Institute at Freetown Farm in Columbia, MD. She currently attends the University of Maryland College Park where she is studying psychology, neuroscience, and environmental sciences. Previously, she was the Lab Coordinator for the program Juntos en Pareja, which provides support services for Latinx couples, and a coordinator for the children’s program Special Friends at Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center.

Jason Zhao – Secretary

Jason Zhao is an engineer for a government agency. He has experience in civil engineering and computer technology.  Jason has 10 years of experience working as a board director for local nonprofit organizations. Currently, he is serving as an advisor for Howard County Chinese School, a cultural education and community center.
